I cannot find AppExpire in the list of controls to add to my form. Where is it?
The name of the control is "ExpireOCX.1". Some versions of the documentation
neglect to mention this. Sorry.
Where is the registration information stored?
The registration information is stored in the registry. If you need more details, and
are a registered user, send me an email
and I'll send you the info.
How secure are the registration codes?
This control was designed to keep the average casual user from bypassing registration.
Some controls are harder to crack than others. No software control can be 100% fool-proof.
Beware of those that tell you otherwise.
Guessing a correct registration number, or trying all of them would be very hard.
Finding the information in the registry would be easier. See the suggestion in the help
file for generating random serial numbers to prevent people from passing around
"valid" codes on the 'net for your software.
Can AppExpire be used in Microsoft Access?
Since AppExpire is an ActiveX control, it can be used in any development environment
that uses ActiveX controls including Microsoft Access. Just place the control on your form
and used the methods and properties as documented.
Can I order using a secure server?
While no one has reported any problems using our in-house server, we do
offer secure on-line ordering though Digibuy.
In order to keep costs low, we would prefer ordering directly through our
website, but if you have a specific need to use a secure server, feel free to
do so.
